To own a bit of ground, to scratch it with a hoe, to plant seeds, and watch the renewal of life - this is the commonest delight of the race, the most satisfactory thing a man can do. - Charles Dudley Warner

Perhaps a new tenant
Fingers crossed we may have a tenant for our new nesting box. We have had Blue Tits and Great Tits looking it over. I hope that they can decide between them who shall live in it without to many fights.

Jim,
Jo from a4a here. I hope that Fred's shed hasn't been demolished yet. Just reading an article in Amateur Gardening Feb 10th edition.
"It's time to celebrate the nation's shabbiest sheds! A hunt is on for the shabbiest shed in the UK and there's a big prize on offer for the owner of the most offensive structure. The challenge is being run by Marshalls, the vegetable seed supplier. Spokesman Martin Harvey said: "We are looking for the nation's worst shed to form the blueprint for designers of our show garden at BBC Gardeners' World Live in June. "We're trying to recreate an authentic British garden in all its glory, including a shed that's seen better days but sums up a slice of British gardening. Don't be ashamed of your shed - celebrate its authenticity! If you are hacked off with your shack we want to hear from you." The winner will receive a new shed worth £500 plus free tickets and VIP treatment at BBC Gardeners' World Live, which takes place at the NEC on 13-17 June. To enter, send pictures of your shed to: Marshalls Shed Competition, Marshalls Seeds, Alconbury Hull, Huntingdon, Cambs PE28 4HY. Or email your pictures to: theshed@marshalls-seeds.co.uk
Thought you might like to give this a go on Fred's behalf seeing as you already have the pictures!
Thank you for sending that Jo it is very interesting. It may be to late though as when I was at the allotment yesterday "Fred's Shed" was just a pile of wood and glass waiting for it's last journey to the local tip.I shall send the pictures in anyway and see what happens. Thanks Again Jim
