I really would like to thank everyone who has been so kind to us over the last few months. A special thank you to a lady called Margaret who was a complete stranger who I met in the cafe of our Sainsbury store the day before my mum's funeral. While Barbara was shopping I sat having a coffee not really wanting to have anything to do with anyone. Margaret asked me if I was OK and when I explained she left only to return shortly with a large bunch of roses for the funeral. What a wonderful world it would be if there were more people like her.
We are now back on the allotment. Not only back but have taken on the one next to us which became vacant. It is mainly small raised beds so quite easy to maintain. I thought that we were a bit behind everyone else but had a count yesterday and including Veg,Fruit and Herbs we have 32 different things growing.
At the weekend coming I shall be taking some photographs to put on here.
It is great to be back

Hi Jim and Barbara,
Glad to see you back, and looking forward to seeing some pictures.
Jo.
It's good to have you back. Be gentle with yourself.
Hi - I found my way here via My Tiny Plot blog. And now you have inspired me to go and count how many things I have growing in garden. I'll be back to later to let you know.

PS - I used to live near Dartford so not far from, but managed to escape to France 18 months ago.
Did you manage to get up the allotment over the week-end or were you beaten by the weather? My current gardening is restricted to the polytunnel and an experiment with trying to get early seeds germinating in a drying box.
I did a count of the fruit trees/bushes, nuts, veg and herbs I have growing and came to 48 (14 of which I am harvesting at the moment). But I am very lucky as I have a large garden and a new orchard. Now I can't wait for spring to arrive (although everyone keeps telling me we are in for a freezing Feb).
