We just really let them fend for themselves. The tubers are never dug up so stay in the ground over winter and I just give them a bit of liquid tomato feed every ten days or so. should have thinned the Plums there are lots of them but seem a bit crowded. And you are more likely to get the variety of potato that you are after.We bought Sarpo Mira and Axona as we are only growing maincrop this year. The weather was kind and it was quite warm and sunny with very little wind for a change. We started a bonfire and managed to burn all the cuttings from the plum trees that we have had piling up for ages. We harvested the remaining beetroot and have sown another two rows of a different variety ( Solist ) and also planted some January King cabbage. We have four pounds of Duke of York new potatoes, a couple of pound of carrots and best of all six beetroot.
